EMBARK Offering Express Bus Service During Women’s College World Series in June

Transit Service Offers Non-Stop Travel from Downtown to USA Softball Hall of Fame Complex Every 30 Minutes

May 30, 2023

EMBARK is once again offering express bus service from downtown to the USA Softball Hall of Fame Complex during the Women’s College World Series, which is scheduled for June 1-9 in Oklahoma City.

This is the second year for EMBARK to offer the special transit service for softball fans. In 2022, nearly 700 riders used the service during the weeklong series.

“The Women’s College World Series is a time for Oklahoma City to shine as we welcome thousands of softball fans to experience our city for a week,” said Assistant City Manager and EMBARK Administrator Jason Ferbrache. “This special express transit service will help address parking and traffic challenges by providing fans with safe and convenient transportation from the Convention Center downtown right up to the front gate of the stadium, and all for a low fare that can be easily purchased on a smart phone.”

In addition to a front gate drop-off at the softball complex in the Adventure District, the special express service also offers fans a way to avoid travel delays due to major highway construction currently underway at I-35 and I-44 near the stadium.

“This annual series is one of Oklahoma City’s premier sporting events and is expected to bring more than 115,000 visitors and generate approximately $25 million in economic impact for our destination. Visit OKC is excited to promote this valuable transportation service by EMBARK which will enhance the fan experience,” said Visit Oklahoma City President Zac Craig. “This convenient transit service makes it easy for fans to connect to the stadium, the Adventure District, as well as everything downtown has to offer.”

Fans can park at either the Oklahoma City Convention Center Garage or the Scissortail Park surface lot for $10 a day, which can be paid for using the Flowbird mobile parking App or at an EMBARK parking kiosk. To ride the express bus, customers can purchase the $4 Adult 1-Day Universal pass, which is valid on both the bus and the OKC Streetcar. The pass can be purchased on the Token Transit App, at an OKC Streetcar kiosk, or at the EMBARK Transit Center.

Discounted rates are available for seniors 65 or older and children 7-17 years old. Children 6 and under ride free.

Fans staying in downtown hotels can ride the OKC Streetcar to its Scissortail Park platform which is located within one block of the EMBARK express service pick up location at S.W. 6th St. and Robinson Ave., near the southwest entrance of the Oklahoma City Convention Center.
